Day 1 - The French Shore

Visit historic La Scie and you will learn about the incredible French history of the Baie Verte Peninsula. You will see authentic French ovens, visit the Outport Museum and Tea Room voted as one of the top places to eat in Canada. The Outport Museum celebrates the local history and examines the early French Basque influence on the French shoreline of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Along the way you can also visit communities such as Nipper's Harbour, Tilt Cove, Shoe Cove, Paquet, Ming's Bight, Round Harbour and Harbour Round.

Another hot spot on the Baie Verte Peninsula is the Dorset Eskimo Soapstone Quarry. Here you will find an interpretation centre and abandoned quarry site which was utilized by the Middle Dorset Paleoeskimo culture approximately 1,600 to 1,200 years ago.

Once you complete your tour of the Baie Verte Peninsula you will return to a deluxe meal and relaxation in one of our luxury suites.

Day 2 - The Royal Tour

Few places in Newfoundland and Labrador offer tourists an experience like King's Point. Home to the Alexander Murray Hiking Trail, King's Point Pottery and By the Sea Café, King's point is a must in your travel plans. By The Sea Café is a quaint little eatery situated along side the harbour - guests are treated to the finest in Newfoundland cuisine and many have come to expect a marine show from the many whales that swim by the café's dock. Some even decide to rub against it leaving you with a memory you will not soon forget.

On the other side of the street you will meet Davis and Linda, owners of King's Point Pottery. A world-renowned showcase of the finest pieces you will find in this province. David and Linda offer private lessons and will even send your finished product to you! What a way to capture your experience! The Gem of the Emerald Forest just may be the Alexander Murray Trail. This is an 8 kilometre trail that offers magnificent viewscapes of the King's Point Valley. Hikers from all over the world have raved about the beauty and serenity of the Alexander Murray Trail.

Before you leave make sure you visit Mrs. Toms' store in Rattling Brook. This little shop will warm your heart and take you back generations. This family store still exudes the charm and character it displayed decades ago. This is a favourite for Riverwood visitors.

Return to the Inn and enjoy a bottle of wine, sweet treats and a riverside fire!

Day 3 - Springdale or Bust

Wake up to an early morning hike on our very own 7.5 kilometer trail that follows the meandering path of Indian River and takes you through the Springdale Wetlands conservation area. Here you will see Osprey, Bald Eagles and many more bird species that make this their home.

In the afternoon you can climb Boyles Hill, a local landmark that is North Americas largest sand glacial deposit. The view from Boyles hill offers a fantastic panoramic view of Hall's Bay. Then visit the Springdale Heritage Society to learn about the history of Springdale. We will even pack a picnic lunch for you!

In the evening you can take a harbour cruise of Halls Bay. This is a 2-3 hour slow moving cruise that will introduce you to historic Dock Cove, Beachy Cove, a M'iq M'aw burial site and a multitude of coves and inlets that once were home to the beothuk and M'iq M'aw. Your launching point for this beautiful tour is the Mainmast Museum, another interesting and history-rich locale. To add a little romance, we can prepare a Romantic Picnic Basket.

If you wish to extend your vacation we can set you up with kayaking, river rafting and over 15 hiking trails within an hours driving radius.
